Becoming a C.I.A. Agent

While everyone talks about the importance of being an “effective leader” in business… What are the actual characteristics of an effective leader?

While experience, know-how, technical skills and education are important aspects of being an effective leader, what good are all those without a foundation built on solid character?

Not important you say?

Let me suggest examining signicant business failures, such as the Enron collapse due to greed, Blockbuster’s demise due to arrogance, Kodak’s failure to consider other business options and more recently the “house of cards” collapse of Theranos due to plain old fraud. In all cases above, each company’s demise was due to character flaws.

Consequently, we argue that to become a truly effective leader you must also develop a strong character. Of these, communication, integrity and accountability are essential traits to build your leadership foundation on.

As a result, we suggest that you become a “CIA leader“!
